During May-June, the EFPU researchers Virginia Villafañe and Walter Helbling carried out experiments in Spain aimed at evaluating the effects of global change on freshwater plankton communities, within the framework of cooperation activities with the University of Granada. In the research carried out with communities from Charcas de Suarez, the effects of temperature fluctuations in the presence of plastic degradation products were studied, while in Laguna Las Yeguas (Sierra Nevada) the optical characteristics were evaluated after Saharan dust deposition events.
