On this occasion, the EFPU researchers Virginia Villafañe and Walter Helbling worked in the Mexican Caribbean, with experiments aimed at evaluating the degradation dynamics of sargassum (Sargassum spp.) in different components of the reef ecosystem (corals, seagrasses, macroalgae) from the Puerto Morelos area. The works are carried out as part of the international cooperation activities between the EFPU and the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico (UNAM), with our counterpart at UNAM being Dr. Anastazia Banaszak.
