Between January 26 and February 3, Nicole Jahnsen Guzmán, Ph.D. student in Conservation Medicine and member of the Coastal Ecology and Anthropogenic Impacts Laboratory (LECIMAT) of the Andres Bello University, Chile, visited us at EFPU.
During her stay, a mesocosm system was installed that will be used to study the impact of nocturnal light pollution on the behavior and physiology of aquatic organisms in the area. We took advantage of Nicole’s stay to carry out a first experiment, using in this case the amphipod Ampithoe valida as a model organism.
