Interactions between UVR and temperature

We studied the responses of two phytoplankton communities from the Chubut river estuary when exposed to solar radiation in a scenario of increased temperature.

In this study we evaluated the joint effect of UVR and increased temperature (in levels as expected by the year 2100) in two communities of the Chubut River estuary – riverine and marine.  An increase in temperature potentiated the negative effects of UVR in the marine community, whereas in the river it reduced them; thus, this community would be benefited in the expected future conditions.
