EFPU researchers carried out field work at Ría Lagartos, in the Yucatán Peninsula.
During December 2014 field work was carried out at Ría Lagartos, in the transition Gulf of México – Caribbean Sea, México. These investigations aimed to characterize the area, from the bio-optical and physical point of view, to obtain a baseline to perform studies about the effects of climate change on plankton. This RAMSAR site has a species interest, as it constitutes a unique refugee for numerous bird species.
This work was supported by Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET) (Argentina) – Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACyT) (México) and Fundación Playa Unión.
